Overview: The Accountant is responsible for analyzing the financial statements each month for assigned locations. Communicates with field managers regarding financial results. Prepares and enters all journal entries related to the monthly close and manual accruals for major accounts. Researches and explains significant variances to budget. Prepares narratives based on margin results. Reconciles data from internal and external interfaces. Monitors and clears suspense accounts. Maintains, monitors, and reviews account reconciliation for assigned balance sheet accounts. Assists in the preparation and filing various tax, franchise and information returns. Cost Report preparation and filing and assists with interim and year-end audits. Keeps Management abreast of unusual accounting issues. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a minimum of three years of accounting experience in healthcare or related environment. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP). Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously and communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions. Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred. CPA desirable. |
