Overview: The Vice President, Revenue Cycle is responsible for directing the daily operations of revenue cycle functions to include: billing and collections, charge master maintenance, contract management, denials management, billing systems, auditing, reporting and analysis. The incumbent in this role is responsbile for managing and increasing the company's revenue and ensuring that all of the functions involved in the generation of revenue work seamlessly together.
Essential duties include:
- Working with business unit executives to develop a strategy that drives continuous process improvement for growing revenue and mitigating denials.
- Driving the decision making process by performing detailed cost/benefit analysis, presenting and evaluating solution options, and driving consensus among key stake holders.
- Achieving radical, measurable performance improvements in a scaled service operation.
- Analyzing ambiguous and complex business problems and uses research and business assessment capabilities, defining potential problems, proposes innovative ideas, and recommends actionable next steps.
- Develops policies, procedures and processes related to revenue cycle functions throughout the organization.
- Ensures compliance with regulations, standards and directives from regulatory agencies and third party payers.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- 10-15 years business/industry experience with at least 3 years of experience managing multiple, medium to large cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
- Multi-site and multi-state experience
- Experience in areas such as business process re-engineering, transformation, and Six Sigma.
- Healthcare/clinical operations industry experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of the Medicare process, Part A & B
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and policies as they relate to the financial operation of a large hospice.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of patient registration, billing, accounts receivable and cash management in a hospice setting.
- Prior experience and strong knowledge of payer requirements relative to coding, charging and billing.
- Strong computer system skills including hospital financial management systems.
- Strong negotiation skills and initiative.
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in health, public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field preferred.
