Job Description: 

Position Summary

Senior Leader for Home Care Division.  Responsible for development and execution of strategic and programmatic planning for the Home Care division under the guidance of the vice president for Ambulatory Services. Responsible for overseeing provision of high quality care, adherence to regulatory requirements, program development, service excellence, and fiscal performance.  In year one, primary responsibility for start up of service/division including development of infrastructure, model of care, and operational processes/systems.  In subsequent years; responsible for ongoing leadership of all facets of operations, care, and program development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operations & Program Development

Develop and implement short and long-range strategies consistent with the mission, vision and strategic plan for Children's Medical Center; executes strategic and programmatic priorities across the organization and in collaboration with identified partners. 

Develop, implement, and maintain management systems of planning, marketing, finance, patient care and administration consistent with the short and long range strategies.

Establish and coordinate policies, procedures and systems in a manner conducive to the markets in which the division operates; recommend changes in policy as necessary and coordinate implementation.

Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and accrediting organizations.

 2. Performance Improvement and Quality

Develop, implement and monitor Performance Improvement and Quality Management plan for Home Care Division in the areas of patient care, fiscal performance, operational metrics and service excellence.

 3. Leadership

Develop, review, revise and implement policies and procedures on an ongoing basis, to assure consistency and compliance with home care standards and accrediting bodies including: the Joint Commission, OSHA, HIPAA, Infection Control, Environment of Care, National Patient Safety Goals.

Keep abreast of department/organization policies/regulations, as well as industry knowledge through technical publications, newsletters, personal networks and professional affiliations.

Direct utilization of the variance/incident reporting system to enhance safety, identify trends and implement changes for best practice.

Effectively recruit, hire, evaluate, develop and coach staff to achieve desired outcomes and serves as a role model for staff.

Effectively uses a variety of communication skills in achieving positive/optimum outcomes, to include confronting issues with tact and diplomacy, while creating a culture of safety and accountability.

 4. Customer Service

Promote and maintain positive, professional relationships with all stakeholders; customers; patients and physicians.

Ensure the availability of all services, as needed, seven days a week on a 24-hour basis.

Meet patient satisfaction goals.

Maintains positive, professional relationships with all referral sources, third-party payers, patients, physicians, family/caregivers, staff, other healthcare providers and interdisciplinary team members.

 5. Financial

Coordinate with Revenue Cycle team in the negotiations of contracts with payers.

Negotiate contracts with product suppliers.

Develop annual budget for Home Care Division and monitor/analyze performance monthly.

Make decisions that demonstrate sound stewardship of financial resources.  Oversee implementation of identified systems/processes to improve efficiency and reduce expenses without compromising quality of service/mission.

Positions Requirements

Minimum 5 -7 years of related experience with progressive management experience.

Minimum Education

Graduate or advanced degree; or equivalent experience required.
