Fort Myers, Southwest Floria Location, Lee County Part-time position, with benefits. (Typically, Mon-Fri, 9a-1:30p) Reliable transportation and acceptable driving record needed The social work practice that occurs in hospitals and other health care settings to facilitate good health, prevent illness and aid physically ill patients and their families to resolve the social and psychological problems related to the illness. Medical social work also sensitizes other health care providers about the social psychological aspects of illness* Medical Social Worker (M.S.W.) provides discharge planning and therapeutic interventions through assessments, referrals and interdisciplinary planning for identified patients. The Medical Social Worker (M.S.W.) also acts as a link to the community, provides case management and seeks opportunities to achieve and maintain maximum functioning for the patient. Education: Minimum Master's degree in Social Work Experience: Prefer at least 1 year social work experience in medical or healthcare setting Other: Communication and interpersonal skills.
