As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Amedisys you will: · Carry out and observe hands-on treatment, implementation and documentation of patient status for home health patients under the direction of the Occupational Therapist · Treat the patient through the use of therapeutic activities designed to restore function and self-care activities designed to improve function under the direction of the OT. · Provide valuable input into the patient’s care and care treatment · Spend more time working with patients and making a significant difference in their lives · Be provided with a consistent case load · Communicate on a regular basis with the Occupational Therapist as to the status, progress, and needs of the patient · Use the most recent and innovative technology in assessing your patient’s needs · Gain quality experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team and personal patient interaction · Have flexibility in your work schedule and autonomy in patient assessments · Be positioned for Career Advancements within Amedisys · Receive excellent Benefits to include a lucrative salary, Continuing Education credits, and specialty rehab programs · Work with team members who share your passion Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
1. Certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association as an occupational therapy assistant 2. Current and unencumbered license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the Company. 3. Current CPR certification. 4. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs. State Specific-QUALIFICATIONS Florida State Specific: The occupational therapist assistant shall be currently licensed in the state, pursuant to Chapter 468, F.S., with one year of experience under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
Louisiana State Specific: Must be licensed and certified to assist in the practice of occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed, registered occupational therapist.
