Responsible for the supervision, management, coordination and provision of quality patient care while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and maintaining the highest standards of care and ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinates communication of information relevant to the patient care process. May schedule patient care staff, receive referrals and physician orders and performs patient visits and all appropriate documentation to the management and provision of patient care. Requirements 1. Current and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the company. 2. Two years experience as a Registered Nurse. One year supervisory/management experience preferred. 3. Two (2) years home health experience preferred. 4. Current CPR certification. 5. Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 7. Demonstrates knowledge of Federal/State rules and regulations, JCAHO standards, and other regulatory requirements. 8. Demonstrates strong fiscal planning and management skills. 9. Knowledge of Federal/State rules and regulations, JCAHO standards, and other regulatory requirements. 10. Knowledge of physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their caregivers. State Specific-QUALIFICATIONS -Georgia State Specific: Each hospice shall have a qualified administrator, designated by the governing body, who shall be responsible for the ongoing and day-to-day operation of the hospice. The hospice administrator shall be: (a) A health care professional licensed to practice in this state who has at least one year of supervisory or management experience in a hospice setting; or (b) An individual with education, training, and experience in health service administration who has at least two years of supervisory or management experience in a hospice setting. -Louisiana State Specific: Three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse. One of those years must consist of full-time experience in providing direct patient care in the hospice or home health setting. One year supervisory/management preferred. -Texas State Specific: An administrator or alternate administrator must meet the qualifications and conditions as described in Texas Administrative Code Rule section 97.244: Administrator Qualifications and Conditions and Supervisory Nurse Qualifications before being designated as the administrator or alternate administrator. -Virginia State Specific: 1. A current license by the Virginia Board of Medicine to practice as a Registered Nurse. 2. Virginia Hospice Salary Scale is maintained at Amedisys Inc., Human Resources Department. |
