Administrator Healthcare Operations

Thrive at Home, Inc. located in Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a Director of Healthcare Operations responsible for executing daily operations, client satisfaction, and new business development opportunities for this profitable, private pay home care company. 

The selected candidate will maintain a leadership role providing vision and oversight, with a strong emphasis on scaling the existing business through new referral sources, product extensions, client relationships, and a qualified workforce. Additionally, the DOO will assure that standardized business policies and procedures are implemented throughout the company and related product lines remain in full compliance with all applicable state laws and credentialing standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The selected candidate will manage a team of 10 support and clinical staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and must be able to perform the following essential job functions.

  • Manage and coordinate the fiscal activities of the company, including new business development, generation of new revenue streams, and contract preparation, negotiation, and approval.
  • Working with the business partners, assists in the oversight and monitoring of AR, AP, collections, claims/billing process functions. Assures efficient, accurate, and timely processes are in place for all essential transactions.
  • Develop employee excellence through innovative recruitment channels, retention strategies, ongoing training, monetary incentives and related team building.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of orientation and ongoing staff training. 
  • Participate in strategic, short-range, and long-range planning for educational, patient care, research, revenue, and community outreach and social media programs.
  • Remain informed and educated about state regulations and standards as well as possible management issues that may impact employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity.
  • Monitor and take reasonable steps to ensure:
  • Monitors all primary Payers and contracts and updates leadership as needed regarding changes in performance and/or reimbursement which impact the business.  
    • a. Patient rights are exercised.
    • b. Compliance with applicable State and Local laws and professional standards are maintained.
    • c. Compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Customer Satisfaction Program that is embedded in the process and culture of the company, which is emphasized through the orientation cycle.
  • Collaborate as needed with the Clinical Leaders of the business to provide them with support and to optimize their performance and decision-making priorities.



Additional Responsibilities as Assigned

  • Partner with owners to develop company’s financial goals and performance measures.
  • Promote interdepartmental cooperation and communication, which may result in mediation of staff disputes.
  • Establish performance goals for staff to evaluate their performance.
  • Coordinate community outreach activities, including possible attendance at conferences and workshops to facilitate referrals.
  • Develop policies focused on patient care in collaboration with the staff and the owners.
  • Assure accuracy of public information material and activities.
  • Evaluate new technology, assesses existing technologies and utilizes advanced knowledge of business operations to drive software and hardware technology recommendations that address the strategy of the company the functional requirements of the business users and the industry direction.  
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to produce daily/monthly reports to clinical business leaders to enhance their ability to staff, schedule and hire staff.


  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, promotes a team approach, participates in appropriate problem-solving methods.
  • With respect to Client Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for residents, reports all complaints made by residents and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/client property and/or any other corporate compliance items immediately.
  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the State of Virginia Department of Health Office of Licensure and Certification as well as any company handbooks.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or administrative/operational leadership in home care, or health care organization such as hospitals, senior living community, health maintenance organization or group medical practice.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate office personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success promoting excellent client relations, patient care, and business development activities.
  • Bachelors of Science degree in business or health-related field preferred.

Compensation: Competitive Salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonus structure.
